Simplexity: something that seems simple yet is quite complex. We were meticulous. We planned “most” things. We did things at the right time, hence why we waited to start a family until after seven years of marriage. We weren’t quite sure what this family would look like and whether or not we would start our family biologically or through adoption. In 2014 we began to plan our family biologically, with the intent to adopt to add to our family later in life. By June of 2015 we had endured two miscarriages and just knew that we were to adopt. We began our journey of adoption in August 2015 and are still waiting to expand our family in that way. We decided to start a blog to document our journey. We have no rose colored glasses. We are walking this path with eyes wide open and are learning more than we ever thought possible and want to document our journey in a “real” and “authentic” way. Starting a family seems simple but is quite complex—simplexity.
